Darren Hyde Enters The Ring To Knock Out Cancer

Our MD, Darren Hyde, is entering the boxing ring to help knock out cancer.

Darren has been a keen boxing enthusiast since childhood and is determined to raise as much money as possible for Ultra White Collar Boxing’s (UWCB) campaign to raise £2 million for Cancer Research UK. Darren is currently spending all free hours training and has even sparred alongside up-and-coming light heavyweight boxer, Dan Azeez. Darren says: “Dan is a great guy, but he does hit hard!”

Darren is also excited about the challenge, he says: “I’ve always enjoyed boxing, and being a security specialist and bodyguard, I have always kept myself reasonably fit. But I think this is a great way for everyone to get involved with boxing and raise much-needed funds for Cancer Research UK. I’m currently nine weeks into my training schedule and it’s going well.

He added: “It’s always daunting going into the boxing ring and everyone taking part is putting in a lot of effort to do the best they can, so I would like to appeal to the public’s generosity to support us in our fight against cancer.”

Ultra White Collar Boxing is billed as a unique opportunity for people with or without a boxing background to experience the sport in a safe and enjoyable environment. The event also aims to raise money for Cancer Research UK and enable people to get in great shape!

Darren’s fight will take place at Unit 7 Nightclub, Festival Leisure Park, Basildon, Essex, on Saturday 13th April. Doors open at 4pm. Tickets for the event are priced from £25 and available at www.ultratickets.co.uk. To help Darren raise much-needed funds, visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Darren-hyde1
