Hylands Estate is an award-winning, Grade II* listed mansion and contemporary Grand Pavilion in Chelmsford, Essex. The venue is surrounded by landscaped parkland and offers a stunning backdrop for large weddings and corporate events.
Brief
Hylands offers weddings for up to 300 people. They also run corporate hospitality and open-air events for the public. They required:
- Team of event stewards to direct traffic and people to the right place.
- Door staff to ensure a maximum of 300 people enter the Grand Pavilion.
- Security to keep guests, staff and public safe.
Action
The team at VIP Security Services met with the Estate’s Operation Leader to discuss their brief and gave advice on how to move forward. Large-scale weddings were a new development for Hylands, but VIP were highly-experienced at big events, so gave practical advice.
Although the work at Hylands is ad hoc, a team of regulars were put in place to give the client continuity of service.
Teams direct traffic and visitors to the car park, Grand Pavilion and open-air events to keep guests and members of the public safe. Event stewards also ensure the venue is free of congestion and that cars are parked at the correct location.
Door staff and a security team ensure maximum numbers and safe flow of guests in and out of the Grand Pavilion.
